'DREAMS, COMPLEXES, AND THE SELF'
And
'THE ECLIPSE OF GOD AND THE CREATIVE'
Presented By
Michael Conforti, Ph.D.
Friday, August 25, 2017 Lecture: Dreams, Complexes, and the Self
In this Friday night lecture, Dr. Conforti addressed the archetypal dimension of the dream and how that objective
dimension can get lost within the realm of one’s personal complexes. According to Dr. Conforti, “The dream is a telling
of the life we are meant to live, of a destiny awaiting our arrival, and of a union with something far greater than we could
have ever imagined; so, too the dream tells us when we have arrived at some dead end roads, those fits and starts that silence
the call of the Self and confine us to an outdated and undeveloped Self. " He lectured that the dream, replete with symbols, images, and metaphors, can bring us to full attention and into relationship with the archetypal realm and that the early
pioneers of psyche spent many years studying images, fairy tales, alchemy, and religion as ways to understand the language
and contents of the Self because they understood that while the dream affects us personally, its source is trans-personal.
Dr. Conforti says that often our inner demons and complexes distort the eternal and archetypal dream images and we miss
the inherent archetypal story containedwithin it. In working with dreams throughout the weekend, the participants took an
in-depth look at the profundity of the dream messages to understand the content contained within them.
Saturday, August 26, 2017 Seminar: The Eclipse of God and the Creative
In this seminar, Dr. Conforti offered an understanding of what it means to work with the Objective Psyche, the realm
of the trans-personal and non-personally acquired contents of the Psyche. He focused on the relationship and difference
between the Objective, archetypal meaning of images and the dreamer’s personal complexes. An important aspect of this
seminar was for participants to learn ways to translate the meaning of dreams in a way that is understandable to the
individual, allowing them to bring wisdom of Psyche into their lives.
